January 2011 - sort of out of order here, but I couldn't resist. We had some Aurora activity last week. The first somewhat decent I activity I have seen this year. We are coming out of one the deepest and longest solar minimums in many years. It's exciting to see the activity back on the rise!

Okay, well it finally warmed up. However, before it did the frost just kept going and growing. It was quite amazing actually. Here are a few more images. I am still processing some other images of a different type of frost...stay tuned :). Oh, and if you are wondering what type of weather conditions we had that made all of this happen, take a look at the screen shot below. Fahrenheit :).

These were some of the largest crystals I have ever seen. There were some nearing 2 inches tall!
