There is another activity I have only seen a few times. It is called lip curling, or Fleming. The bulls are scenting the air to tell if the female is in heat, or whatever they call it for moose. I saw quite a bit of it this year, but I also spent a lot of time out there with them. The weather was pretty cooperative so I made the most of it. These animals were frequently sniffing around and looking for scents.

As always when you're looking for animals you never knew what you would see on any given day. There were many moments that tested ones patience. Standing around, nothing going on, no animals to be found. Then there were others that made all that dead time worth the wait.
