Common treatment for low back pain gets an "F".

August 5, 2019

The typical medical approach to treating pain is often medication and imaging. Sadly neither of these actually do anything to fix the problem, and often don't even make the pain less. They certainly don’t do anything for, nor change the reason why you are having the pain in the first place. In fact, some studies are showing it can make your pain worse. The results of MRI reports often instill fear in patients (without good reason usually). Medications at best dull the symptoms, but that's about it.

You may be living this already, and nodding your head in understanding and frustration. We don’t blame you. That’s why at IPT we take an entirely different approach. We use MDT (Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy) and take the time with you on day one to understand your pain. How it acts, where it is, and what makes it better or worse. Using that information we can formulate a diagnosis day one and work with you to immediately reduce your pain, and more importantly address the actual problem.
